Teila Allmond is a workforce development leader, consultant, and advocate for underserved communities with over a decade of experience in the skilled trades. As a union electrician and journeyperson, Teila has supported MyWIC Camp for eight years as a mentor and coordinator with IBEW Local 98. Over the past three years, Teila pioneered the implementation of the Rosie’s Girls Pre-Apprenticeship Program, building apprenticeship-aligned pathways and partnerships with unions, schools, and organizations across the city and beyond.

Teila is a Certified Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Specialist and a graduate of the IBEW Local 98 Apprenticeship Program, where she received the Klein Award for Apprenticeship Excellence. She has been recognized for her leadership and impact in workforce development and the skilled trades, including the 2025 Philadelphia City Council Women on the Move Award, the 2024 Tea & Hat Award for Career Excellence, and the 2023 NECA DEI&B Award for contributions to the electrical construction industry.

Her work has gained national and regional visibility, including the honor of attending the 2024 State of the Union Address and serving as a live announcer for First Lady Dr. Jill Biden. She has also been invited to speak on national labor platforms in partnership with the IBEW & AFL-CIO, demonstrating her dedication and influence within the skilled trades. In addition, she is featured in the Franklin Institute’s Hamilton Collection Gallery and in “Teila’s Story” by DEWALT Tools.

Teila’s background also includes creative roles beyond the trades. She was an International Slam Poetry Team Finalist with Philadelphia Youth Poetry Movement and has contributed to community art spaces and museums using her voice to inspire and her hands to build. In addition to her program leadership, Teila aims to continue cultivating relationships that expand access to career pathways for women and advance industry-wide advocacy, while strengthening long-term opportunities for women entering the industry.
